Hi and welcome back!
There's so much to talk about. I just returned from a three day training program with TTI Performance Systems in Phoenix. The first day focused on the DISC Behavioural and Values and Motivators assessment tools. Days two and three - called the TTI Boot Camp - provided an overview of a variety of productivity improvement tools. There were approximately a dozen distributors in attendance. I'll have more on these during the next few newsletters.
My wife Sandra accompanied me on the trip. We took a couple of days to see the sights, including the Grand Canyon. It was my second visit, Sandra's first. What an amazing place. It's breath taking. I consider it to be one of the wonders of the world.
The e-store is progressing nicely. I thought we'd be ready to launch on June 1st, but it's turned out to be a much bigger project than I thought. July 1st looks more realistic date. We'll have close to 50 products as an initial offering. Stay tuned for more details.
I'm collaborating with Ben Cornell and his team at Ward & Uptigrove in Listowel to design and develop a half day time management program. The launch date is June 23rd.

Here's something to think about:
A coach is someone who tells you what you don't want to hear, who has you see what you don't want to see, so you can be who you have always known you could be.

The June 15, 2010 compliance deadline may have passed, but it's not too late to take action if you haven't done so.
We can assist you with policy development, risk assessments, program development and training (classroom and e-learning). We'll help you become compliant and keep you in the good graces of the MOL.
Effective problem solving and decision making requires following these 7 steps:
- Define the problem
Ask yourself and others, the following questions:
- Where is it happening?
- How is it happening?
- When is it happening?
- With whom is it happening?
- Why is it happening?
- What should the desired situation be?
- What is the gap between the current situation and desired state? This is the problem.
- Write down a short description of the problem. Be specific in the description, including what is happening, where, how, with whom and why.
- Gather Data
Conduct a fact finding investigation. Get all the information you can about the problem. You may have to talk to others who may be involved in the problem or situation.
- Analyze the Facts
Establish the causes or causes of the problem. Dig into what lies behind the problem.
- Consider Possible Courses of Action
List the possible courses of action in light of the factual analysis.
- Evaluate the Possible Courses of Action
Consider the possibilities by listing the pros and cons of each possible course of action. Compare costs with benefits. Assess how far the needs of those involved will be met and the extent to which your decisions will be acceptable. Consider the risk of creating any precedents. Also consider the implications of any internal or external constraints that may exist.
- Decide and Implement
Decide what the preferred course of action will be and discuss it with those concerned.
- Monitor Implementation
Check on how effectively the decision is being implemented. Take corrective action where necessary.
